UN chief calls for postponement of Yemen peace talks -
UNITED NATIONS, May 27 (APP):  Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has asked his Special Envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, to postpone the planned consultations aimed at seeking a peaceful and Yemeni-led political transition process in the war-torn country, according to a United Nations spokesperson.

41 FIA officers suspended for dereliction of duties PDF Print E-mail

ISLAMABAD, Mar 27 (APP): As many as 41 officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were suspended on charges of corruption, misuse of authority and giving way to illegal immigrants. According to FIA sources, most of corruption cases are from lower ranks especially from Inspector level to downward cadre. FIA sources confided to this scribe that seven Assistant Directors, eight Inspectors and 26 Sub-Inspectors were suspended during the past three years.

Assistant Director Ejaz Ahmed Bajwa, Immigration,Islamabad Airport was suspended due to inefficiency and misconduct and departmental proceedings are under process.

Assistant Director (Legal) Ikramullah was suspended on orders of Peshawar High Court on account of using foul language before an honorable judge.  However, he was reinstated in service on the direction of Peshawar High Court accepting his un-conditional apology.

Assistant Director (Legal) Karachi Zone Mumtaz-ul-Hassan was suspended for faulty prosecution of cases of Karachi passport Circle.    

Assistant Director FIA Shahzada Saleem was suspended for remaining absent from duty while Assistant Director FIA Lahore Zone,  Kamran Attaullah was suspended for remaining deliberately absent from duty and for not joining enquiry proceeding which is underway against him.

Assistant Director FIA Karachi Zone Agha Ishrat Ali was suspended for remaining absent from duty extending ex-Pakistani leave while Assistant Director Immigration FIA Quetta Asmatullah Khan was suspended for gross misconduct and incorrigible behaviour.

Inspector Ahmed Jan FIA Karachi Zone was suspended for detaining a passenger at Immigration Airport Karachi unnecessarily. Inspector Manawar Iqbal Ranjah FIA Lahore was suspended for visiting a brothel house and extorting money from women.

Inspector Muhammad Anwar FIA Karachi was suspended for remaining un-authorizedly absent from duty and defied lawful orders for superiors.

Inspector Tahir Jan Durrani FIA Peshawar was suspended for clearing passengers having illegal documents at Immigration Airport Peshawar while Inspector Muhammad Asim Butt FIA Lahore was suspended for keeping a private person and receiving bribe through him.

Inspector Noor Muhammad Kaka AHTC Karachi was suspended for willfully violating the lawful orders of seniors while Inspector Qazi Abdul Hameed FIA Peshawar was suspended on account of his unsatisfactory performance.

Likewise, Sub-Inspectors Sadoro Khan Baloch FIA Immigration JIA Karachi, Raja Muhammad Arshad FIA Immigration Islamabad Airport, Khalid Mehmood FIA Rawalpindi Zone, Muhammad Shoaib Karachi Zone, Muhammad Suleman FIA Immigration JIAP Karachi, Jamil Khan FIA Immigration Peshawar, Abdul Wahab FIA Immigration JIAP Karachi, Ghazanfar Ali Bhutto, Farrukh Saeed Rizvi FIA Karachi zone, Raja Mehmood Akhtar FIA Rawalpindi Zone, Ghazanfar Hussain Chagezai FIA Karachi zone, Ghulam Rasool Panwar FIA Immigration JIAP Karachi, Mehboob Ali FIA Karachi and Siraj Uddin Panwar FIA Karachi were suspended over the allegations of illegal immigration.

Noor Muhammad Sukhera FIA Crime Circle Multan was suspended for cheating high officials and getting appointment as ASI in FIA on bogus result card of Intermediate. Muhammad Iqbal FIA Karachi zone and Kausar Mehmood FIA Lahore zone were suspended for extortion of money for the purpose of corruption while Muratab Ali Shah FIA Karachi zone was suspended for deliberately avoiding to register a case against off-loaded at JIAP Karachi.

Similarly, Sub-Inspectors Zahid Mehmood FIA Rawalpindi Zone was suspended for delay in investigation of enquiry of Passport Circle Rawalpindi, Fakhar Hussain Shah FIA Rawalpindi Zone was suspended for being arrested in a criminal case.

Sub Inspectors Munir Ahmed Shah FIA Karachi Zone and Fakhar ul Islam were suspended for faulty investigation of cases while Sub-Inspector Imam Baksh FIA passport Circle Rawalpindi was arrested for misleading briefing to the standing council.

Sub-Inspector Buland Akhtar FIA Lahore zone was suspended for non-compliance of posting orders issued by the competent authority while Peer Sikandar Ali Shah Karachi Zone was suspended for involvement in case of Shah Faisal police station Karachi and Allauddin Kakar FIA Karachi zone was suspended for the escape of deportees.

Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tariq Pervez told APP that efforts are underway to make FIA corruption free department and no irregularity or embezzlement would be tolerated.
