PBCC to replace Anees
ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has decided to replace skipper Anees Javed owing to his poor performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup at India. Talking to APP, PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah said a new skipper will be appointed in the days to come as Anees’s performance has not been up to the mark.
 
Age no barrier for Pakistani players in 12th South Asian Games
ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Age is just a number for the Pakistani table tennis team for the 12th South Asian Games which is taking place from 5 February to 16 February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. They have the 45 plus duo of Shabnam Bilal and Raheela Khalif, who helped the women's team win the silver, 12 years after they had claimed the same feat at the Games' 2004 edition in Islamabad.

 
England to face Pakistan in 5th place playoff in U19 CWC
KARACHI, Feb 10 (APP): England demolished Namibia by 203 runs on Wednesday to set up a clash with Pakistan for the fifth/sixth position playoff in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016. England, which lost to Sri Lanka in the quarter-finals, piled up 286 for nine after being sent in to bat in a match reduced to 48 overs a side due to murky weather in Fatullah.

Rookie Nawaz, Rumman in Pak team for Asia Cup & World T20, Shahzad, Gul axed
KARACHI, Feb 10 (APP): National selectors Monday named rookie all-rounder Muhammad Nawaz and southpaw paceman Rumman Raees in their 15-member squad for the upcoming ACC T20 Asia Cup and ICC World T20. Opener Khurram Manzoor was also recalled in the national squad with Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed. No specialist spinner included in the team.

Governor gives Pakistan Day Civil Awards to 27 recepients PDF Print E-mail

KARACHI, March 23 (APP): Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Sunday presented Pakiistan Civil Awards to 27 recepients at an impressive ceremony held at the Governor House here.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Rtd) Abdul Qadir Halepota, members of caretaker Sindh Cabinet, representtatives of Armed Forces, senior government officials and notables.

The Governor decorated Eight with Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Seven with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and 12 with President’s Awards for Pride of Performance.

The recepients of Sitara-e-Imtiaz included Prof. Dr Mohammed Ajmal Khan, Director Institute of Sustainable Halophyte Utilization, University of Karachi; Prof Dr A.Q.K. Rajput, Vice-Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro; Prof Dr Matin Ahmed Khan, Life Research Professor and Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Hamdard Institute of Management Sciences Karachi; Shaikh Mohammed Munir, Chairman Din Group of Industries Karachi; Mian Zahid Hussain, Group Chief Executive, Kenlubes International Karachi; Liquat Habib Merchant, Liquat Merchant Associates, Karachi; Pirzada Syed Inquilab Matri, Chief Editor Daily Millat Karachi; Khawaja Iqbal Hassan, President and CEO NIB Bank Karachi.
