Muharram teaches brotherhood,love,tolerance: PM |

ISLAMABAD, Nov 15 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the month of Muharram ul Harram teaches the Muslims the lesson of brotherhood, love and tolerance and advised them to work for welfare of the humanity and mutual tolerance in line with the teachings of Islam. Congratulating the nation and overseas Pakistanis on the advent of new Hijri year 1434 and the first month of the Islamic calendar Muharramul Harram, Prime Minister Ashraf thanked Allah Almighty to give the opportunity of having this month. In his message on the occasion of first of Muharramul Harram, he said that Muharram has always remained the month of respect and dignity. He said this month required us to review our past deeds and set our direction for the future.
The Prime Minister said that
first decade (ten days) of Muharram ul Harram is remembered for
martyrdom of Hazrat Omar Farooq (RA) and the unprecedented sacrifices of
Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), grandson of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace By Upon
Him) at Karbala.
He said the great sacrifice by Hazrat Imam Hussain
(RA) at Karbala proved that nothing is superior for a Muslim than
following the teachings of Islam.
“We should follow the true spirit
of Muharramul Harram, which is sacrifice and religious tolerance, part
of our lives and refrain from all kinds of prejudice and class
differences.”
He said the Muslims should keep themselves above from
class and creed and political affiliations and promote the feelings of
love and affection among themselves, adding,” we should utilize all our
energies for progress and prosperity of the country and nation and to
make Pakistan a cradle of peace.”
“Allah Almighty guide us to follow the philosophy of Muharram ul Harram, Aameen.”
