Dar arrives Dubai to attend IMF meeting -
DUBAI, May 6 (APP): Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Dubai from Baku after attending the 48th annual meeting of ADB Board of Governors, its related events and undertaking other engagements on the sidelines of the BoG meeting.


UNICEF, EU begin airlift of 80 metric tonnes of humanitarian supplies to quake-hit Nepal -
UNITED NATIONS, May 5 (APP): Humanitarian supplies to meet the emergency needs of some of the 1.7 million children affected by the April, 25 earthquake in Nepal are being airlifted in to the capital, Kathmandu, as the United Nations children's agency works with the European Union (EU) to provide much needed relief from  effects of the disaster.


Yemen conflict death toll nears 650 as UN rights office spotlights plight of 3 million disabled -
UNITED NATIONS, May 5 (APP): The conflict in Yemen has now taken at least 646 civilian lives and injured more than 1,300 others, according to UN human rights monitors who also drew attention on Tuesday to the desperate plight of persons with disabilities who are facing increasing difficulties in meeting their basic needs.

Malala to be shifted to Germany: Malik PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP): Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday said that injured Malala Yousafzai would be shifted to Germany once the doctors team allows as per her condition for traveling. Talking to media outside the parliament, the minister said President Asif Ali Zardari had directed him to finalize all arrangements for shifting Malala Yousafzai abroad for best medical treatment, adding President will personally bear expenditure on her treatment. He said the doctors team would travel along with her in an air-bus once the doctors approved her traveling.Rehman Malik said Taliban should be called by name of “Zaliman” because of their brutality and inhuman activities. “Attack on Malala Yousafzai is infact attack on all children of Pakistan”. He said it was a mindset which was attacking our future generations. He also called on Ulema to play their important role in fighting extremism and terrorism by denouncing such callous attacks.
