UN-backed task force set up to reduce risks of flying over conflict zones -
UNITED NATIONS, Aug 1 (APP): In the wake of the recent downing of a Malaysia airlines plane over eastern Ukraine, the United Nations and its partners have set up a task force to reduce the risks of civilian planes flying over conflict areas and ensure that the "right information reaches the right people at the right time."

UNITED NATIONS, Aug 1 (APP): Israel and Hamas have agreed to a 72-hour pause in their three-week conflict, the United Nations and the United States announced, allowing for both sides to begin talks on a longer-term ceasefire.

ISLAMABAD, Sep. 16 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, who took an aerial view of the flood-affected areas of Sindh and the Punjab on Sunday, announced a special relief package for the flood victims.The Prime Minister visited different flood-affected areas of Sindh and directed for the immediate release of Rs 710 million for these areas.The amount included Rs. 200 million for Kmashmore, Rs. 200 million for Jacobabad, Rs. 70 million for Ghotkai, Rs. 100 million for Sukkar and Rs. 100 million for Mirpur.The Prime Minister also announced Rs. 2 billion Relief Package for the flood-affected areas of Sindh and more funds would be allocated as required.The Prime Minister also directed that same relief package be finalised for the flood-hit areas of South Punjab and Balochistan.He said that all children, old people and women should get relief.He also ordered for the provision of 25000 tents for the flood-affected areas on immediate basis.The Prime Minister appreciated the role of Armed Forces and provincial governments in the relief and rescue operation.
