Accurate data vital for balanced resource allocation: PM |

ISLAMABAD, Sept 3 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday said that National Population Census provides important information for resource allocation and development planning of the country.The collection and dissemination of accurate data is vital for balanced allocation of resources for different units of the country, he added.The Prime Minister expressed these views during a briefing on the work and performance of Statistics Division here at the Prime Minister House.Prime Minister Ashraf directed that modern and international practices and standards should be used during conducting national consensus.The Secretary Statistics Division briefed the Prime Minister on the current methodology being adopted for collection of data and the coordination between the federal and provincial governments for the purpose.The meeting was attended by Secretary Statistics Division, Sohail Ahmad, Secretary Finance, Abdul Wajid Rana, Chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), M. Tariq Malik, Census Commissioner, Habibullah Khan Khattak and other government officials.
