UN chief calls for postponement of Yemen peace talks -
UNITED NATIONS, May 27 (APP):  Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has asked his Special Envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, to postpone the planned consultations aimed at seeking a peaceful and Yemeni-led political transition process in the war-torn country, according to a United Nations spokesperson.


UN warns of "alarming" spike in suicide attacks by women and girls in Nigeria -
UNITED NATIONS, May 26 (APP): Northeast Nigeria has witnessed a sharp increase in suicide attacks involving women and girls this year, the United Nations children's agency warned Tuesday, calling on the country's incoming Government make the safety and well-being of children a political priority.

PPP has deep roots among masses: Naveed PDF Print E-mail
HYDERABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Federal Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar has said that Pakistan Peoples Party is the only political party which has deep roots among the masses because of its struggle for protection of the rights of the countrymen during dictatorial regimes and provision of basic facilities to them during its governments. The minister expressed these remarks while exchanging Eid greetings with the notables and party workers at Circuit House Tando Muhammad Khan on Tuesday. He said that whenever the party came into existence, it made all out efforts to address the issues of the common people which including the employments and development projects all over the country, which resulted popularity of the party among the masses.
