PSL fever grips even the politicians
ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): Not only the common folks but politicians of different hues are also getting under the sway of Pakistan’s ongoing inaugural International T20 Cricket show, the Pakistan Super League. Politicians from MQM’S Faisal Sabzwari to PTI’s Asad Umar have expressed their interest in PSL, supporting their favourite teams also.
 
Sports Gala from Monday
ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): The Inter Board Sports Gala 2016 will kick off here at the Pakistan Sports Complex from Monday.  The 8-day event to be concluded on February 22 is being hosted by the  Azad Jammu and Kashmir Mirpur Board, said a press release issued here.
 
Mohsin terms PSL as Dubai Super League
ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): Former Coach Mohsin Hasan Khan while terming PSL as Dubai Super League said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should be shifted to Dubai as it is doing anything for the promotion of the game in the country. Criticizing on the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Mohsin said there was no need to hold the PSL in Dubai. “PSL is Pakistan’s league and should have happened here,” he said while talking to a private news channel.
 
35th CAS Open Golf Championship begins at Airmen Golf Course
PESHAWAR, Feb 11 (APP): The 35th edition CAS Open Golf Championship-2016 began at Airmen Golf Course and Recreational Park, PAF Base Korangi Creek. The Championship will last for four days and 18 holes will be played each day. Air Vice Marshal Salman Ahsan Bukhari, Air Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command, who is also Patron in Chief Airmen Golf Course, inaugurated the Championship.

 
Nasir Iqbal win gold in SA Games
PESHAWAR, Feb 11 (APP): Nasir Iqbal clinched the individual squash gold medal beating compatriot Farhan Zaman in straight games in the final to win gold medal in South Asian Games being held in India. Nasir defeated Farhan Zaman 14-12, 11-7 and 11-9 in straight sets. Former Pakistan Sports Board Weightlifting coach Farman Ali said that he was feeling proud of his son winning gold medal in South Asian Games.

Whatmore upbeat about Pak chances in World T20 PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (APP): Pakistan coach Dav Whatmore was upbeat Friday about his side’s chances at the World Twenty20. He welcomed the opportunity for his players to prepare in the Sri Lankan league, a private television channel reported. Nearly all Pakistani players selected for the September 18 to October 7 tournament in Sri Lanka feature in this month’s Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL). Whatmore, 58, who was appointed in March and coached Sri Lanka to their 1996 World Cup title, said his players will get good practice in the venues where the World Twenty20 will be held. “There is an opportunity for some of the boys to participate in the SLPL and it’s a good thing and I have no problem with it,” Whatmore told at the National Cricket Academy.
