Cricket: Rain delays Pakistan’s clash with Scotland
EDINBURGH, May 19, (APP/AFP) - Pakistan’s one-day international against Scotland was delayed on Sunday due to a waterlogged playing surface in Edinburgh. The umpires ordered a 1200GMT pitch inspection at the Grange after taking a close look at the wicket three times before the scheduled start of play. Heavy rain in the Scottish capital on Saturday left areas of the outfield sodden, while there were also worries about the condition of the wicket.

KARACHI, Aug 16 (APP): The spinners duo of Asif Afridi and Sheraz Ali shared seven wickets between them to spin Tapal Cricket Club in the final of PTV 27th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan T20 Cricket Tournament with a comfortable 32-run victory over Dollar East at KG Ground on Thursday.Dollar East off-spinner Taha Mamsa in an amazing spell grabbed five wickets for 22 runs in four overs. But his grand effort failed to save Dollar East from defeat.Tapal CC will now meet Advance Telecom in Friday’s final.  The winners of the event will take Rs.500,000 and runners-up grabbing 250,000.Asif captured four wickets for 12 runs in a brilliant spell of left arm spin and off-break bowler Sheraz Ali took three wickets for 14 runs as Dollar East batting, caved in for mere 97 runs in the 19th over while chasing a modest total of 130 for victory.Owais Pasta, known more his bowling skills scored  26 while Shahzad Malik made 21.Earlier helped by a fine 45 from 37 balls with two fours and one six by Muhammad Javed, Tapal CC scored 129 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.Summarized scores:Tapal CC 129-9 in 20 overs (M.Javed 45, Daniyal Ahsan 29, Saeed Khan 17, Taha Mamsa 5-22, Junaid Zia 2-25) Dollar East 97 all out in 18.4 overs (Owais Pasta 26, Shahzad Malik 21, Junaid Zia 20, Asif Afridi 4-12, Sheraz Ali 3-14).
