PM leaves for home at conclusion of two-day visit to Qatar -
DOHA Feb 11 (APP) : Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif left for Islamabad, after completing his two days official visit to Qatar. The Prime Minister was seen off by Dr Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Sada, Qatari Minister for Energy at the Hamad International Airport, Doha.  



Member of Royal Family of Qatar calls on PM -
app18-11pm-doha.jpgDOHA, Qatar (APP): Feb. 11 (APP): A member of the Royal Family Shiekh Khalid bin Hamad paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here on Thursday. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan attaches immense importance to its close and cordial relations with Qatar, which will be further strengthened after the signing of the recent LNG agreement between the two countries.


Pakistan calls for integrated approach to implementing 2030 development agenda -
maleeha.jpgNEW YORK, Feb 11 (APP):  Pakistan has called for an integrated approach to implementing the United Nations’ 2030 development agenda by placing sustainable energy at its heart. Chairing a meeting of an informal group of countries that seek to promote what is called ‘SE4All’ or Sustainable Energy for All, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, said that energy is pivotal to achieving economic growth and development.


PM invites Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan -

The Prime Minister was talking to Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Thani, who along with his delegation called on him here.


UN chief warns illicit drugs impede sustainable development -
UNITED NATIONS, Feb 10 (APP): United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Wednesday urged the global community to weigh every option available to control illicit drug use that promotes violence, impede sustainable development, endanger communities and undermine people’s health. “This global challenge is interconnected with corruption, terrorism and illicit flows of money,” the secretary-general told UN official and delegates at a meeting ahead of a UN General Assembly special session (UNGASS) on the world drug problem in April.

Pakistan set to face India in SAG final
ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): Pakistan Whites will take on arch-rivals India in the final of men's hockey in the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) on Friday at the Moullana MD Tayabullah Hockey Stadium, Bhetapara Guwahati, India. Pakistan's performance has been impressive in the event as they have won all their group matches, including the one against India when they got a 2-1 victory against them.

 
KP Under-23 Games logo and trophy unveiled in Bannu amidst fun and joys
PESHAWAR, Feb 11 (APP): The Sports and Tourism Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa unveiled the logo and trophy on Thursday at Qazi Mohib Sports Complex Bannu of the upcoming mega sports competitions to be starting from February 22 in various district across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Deputy Secretary Sports Adil Safi and Director Sports Tariq Mehmood with their team of government officials from Peshawar were welcomed at Bannu by the Deputy Commissioner Adil Iqbal and Assistant Commissioner Fawad.

 
Pakistan players slides in PSA World Squash Ranking
KARACHI, Feb 11 (APP): Pakistan players further slide in Professional Squash Association (PSA) World ranking available on Thursday.There was no Pakistani among the top 50. Alexandria, (Egypt) based 26-year-old Mohamed Elshorbagy relegated Frenchman Gregory Gaultier to second spot while Nick Matthew of England was occupying third place.

 
Pirzada expresses satisfaction over PHF's efforts
ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Thursday expressed his satisfaction over the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for its efforts in reviving the national game. The minister also congratulated the PHF and the players and management of the Pakistan White Hockey Team for their tremendous performance in the ongoing 12th South Asian Games, says a press release issued here.

 
Inter Board Sports Gala kicks off Monday
ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): The Inter Board Sports Gala 2016 will kick off at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad on Monday.  The 8-day event to be concluded on February 22 is being hosted by the  Azad Jammu and Kashmir Mirpur Board, said a press release issued by Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Thursday.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10 (APP): Federal Minister for Political Affairs Maula Bakhsh Chandio on Friday said that continuity of democracy is the solution of all problems.Talking to a private television channel, he said that Pakistan People’s party (PPP) leadership rendered the sacrifices to strengthen democracy in the country, adding that his party believes in the policy of reconciliation and had resolved  many issues through dialogue and its reconciliation policy, he added.He said that Parliament is supreme and has a power to make or reject any legislation in the larger national interest.Replying to a question, Chandio said that President enjoys immunity according to international laws.He said that PPP always respected the judiciary and all other institutions, adding that the former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani appeared before the court thrice time was the proved to be the respect of apex court.To another question, Chandio said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was hatching conspiracies against the federal government.He said that Punjab government should focus on the good governance in the province.
