Exports rose 1 percent year on year to 176.9 billion U.S. dollars in July, plummeting from the 11.3-percent growth seen in June and well below market expectations, the official media quoted General Administration of Customs (GAC) said Friday. Imports also lost steam, increasing 4.7 percent year on year to 151.8 billion U.S. dollars, compared with a growth of 6.3 percent in June.
