UN rights experts urge President Obama to release report on CIA torture allegations -
UNITED NATIONS, Nov 26 (APP): A group of United Nations human rights experts Wednesday urged US President Barack Obama to support “the fullest possible release” of a report detailing Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) interrogation practices, saying Washington must rise to meet the high human rights standards it has set for itself and others around the world.

UNITED NATIONS, Nov 26 (APP): The decision by a Grand Jury in Missouri to absolve a police officer for the fatal shooting of an African-American teenager has spotlighted broader concerns about institutionalized discrimination across the United States, the top United Nations human rights official has said.

KATHMANDU (Nepal), Nov 26 (APP): Though Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have been under one roof at SAARC Summit and in the same hotel, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz dismissed chances of any "structured meeting" between the two.

Federation seeks review of contempt law judgement PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP): The federation on Wednesday moved an appeal before the Supreme Court seeking a review of its order on annulled Contempt of Court Act 2012.The appeal was moved through Abdul Shakoor Paracha, counsel for federation, under Article 188 of the constitution read with order XXVI Rule 1 of Pakistan Supreme Court Rules 1980 against a judgement of August 8.Through the plea, it was contended that the petitioner being aggrieved by the aforesaid short order has filed the instant petition seeking review of order on August 3,2012 account of mistakes and errors apparent on the face of the record and also in view of other sufficient reasons contained on the following grounds.
