New European curbs on refugees violate human right: UN chief warns -
UNITED NATIONS, Nov 25 (APP): Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has warned Balkan States that border restrictions based on a refugees' or migrants' nationality infringed human rights, with the U.N. refugee agency reporting that 1,000 people are already stranded, 60 of them on hunger strike and 11 reportedly stitching up their mouths in protest.

UNITED NATIONS, Nov 25 (APP): Pakistan has warned of fading prospects for a two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict while the Security Council, which is responsible for maintaining international peace, continues to "procrastinate and dither for political reasons."

PM for strategic partnership between Pakistan and Germany PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday said bilateral relations between Pakistan and Germany are based on shared values of democracy, pluralism, respect for human rights and economic liberalism. Talking to German Ambassador, Dr. Cyrill Nunn who paid a courtesy call on him at the PM House here, the Prime Minister said Pakistan-German relations are broad-based that needed to be transformed into a strategic partnership. The Prime Minister said Pakistan is desirous and committed to further enhancing relations with Germany both at the bilateral level and with regard to European Union.He expressed satisfaction on the finalization of the roadmap for Strategic Dialogue with Germany of which first round is expected early next month.He expressed confidence that the roadmap would provide a framework for the intensified cooperation and regular consultation at the foreign-secretary level.The Prime Minister appreciated the German relief assistance for flood victims in 2010 and in 2011 and especially mentioned the German Chancellor’s Telethon for appealing the people for their contribution for flood victims in Pakistan.
