Pakistan urges collective effort to ensure succes of UN's peacekeeping -
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 30 (APP): Reaffirming Islamabad's commitment to United Nations peacekeeping, a top Pakistani diplomat said Thursday that his country's participation in the U.N. flagship activity was aimed at helping the world body to deliver on its promise to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war.


Malala donates $50,000 for reconstruction of Gaza schools -
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 29 (APP):  Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Malala Yousafzai, Wednesday announced a contribution of $50,000 to help with the rebuilding of UN schools in Gaza that were heavily damaged by the Israeli bombing of the enclave recently.

UNITED NATIONS, Oct 29 (APP): Pakistan was elected Wednesday to the  Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC),the economic arm of the United Nations, with Ambassador Masood Khan saying it reflected the prestige Pakistan enjoys in the international community.


Recession-hit rich countries suffer ‘great leap backwards’ in child poverty: UN -
UNITED NATIONS, Ovt 29 (APP):  Some 2.6 million children have sunk below  the poverty line in the world’s most affluent countries since 2008, negatively impacted by the wave of recessions that rippled through their economies following the meltdown of blue chip financial intuitions, according to a new United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) report out Wednesday.

WASHINGTON,  Oct 29 (APP): Pakistan features higher than other major regional economies in the  World Bank’s 2015 report on the ease of doing business, with a series of notable reforms introduced in recent years.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has felicitated Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Aerture Rasizade on the occasion of 20th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.In his letter to his Azeri counterpart, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said, “It gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Excellency my heartiest felicitations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.”He said, “Pakistan and Azerbaijan have nurtured the spirit of friendship and cooperation for the past two decades. The friendship and cooperation between the two countries exist in various fields, including political, defence, economy and culture. Mutually beneficial exchanges have become frequent not only at the governmental level but also at the people-to-people level.”“I am confident that greater interaction and cooperation between our two countries will further deepen and expand our close relationship to the mutual benefit of Pakistan and Azeri peoples,” he added.
