MUZAFFARGARH, July 30 (APP): Hundreds of engineers and support staff were braving extreme hot and humid weather conditions in desert-like area of Muzaffargarh for the last few days to fix the problem after a twister destroyed 19 steel structure towers of transmission line suspending 1,800 megawatt of power supply from the national grid Friday last.“It was unprecedented,” MD NTDC Naveed Ismail told Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira and Minister for Water and Power Ahmad Mukhtar at a briefing here Monday.Such kind of destruction in this manner was never witnessed before, the ministers were informed.A visit to the site revealed that upper portions of some of the steel towers were broken and lying on the ground where bushes were found burnt.Engineers having expertise in handling High Tension (HT) lines rushed to the spot from different parts of the country and they all were in a ready to move condition next day, last Saturday.
