Pakistan urges collective effort to ensure succes of UN's peacekeeping -
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 30 (APP): Reaffirming Islamabad's commitment to United Nations peacekeeping, a top Pakistani diplomat said Thursday that his country's participation in the U.N. flagship activity was aimed at helping the world body to deliver on its promise to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war.


Malala donates $50,000 for reconstruction of Gaza schools -
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 29 (APP):  Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Malala Yousafzai, Wednesday announced a contribution of $50,000 to help with the rebuilding of UN schools in Gaza that were heavily damaged by the Israeli bombing of the enclave recently.

UNITED NATIONS, Ovt 29 (APP):  Some 2.6 million children have sunk below  the poverty line in the world’s most affluent countries since 2008, negatively impacted by the wave of recessions that rippled through their economies following the meltdown of blue chip financial intuitions, according to a new United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) report out Wednesday.

WASHINGTON, July 21 (APP): U.S. President Barack Obama has greeted Muslims around the world on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and expressed Washington’s support for people of the Middle East and North Africa struggling for their democratic rights.“This year, Ramadan holds special meaning for those citizens in the Middle East and North Africa who are courageously achieving democracy and self-determination and for those who are still struggling to achieve theiruniversal rights,” he said in a statement, released by the White House. “The United States continues to stand with those who seek the chance to decide their own destiny, to live free from fear and violence, and to practice their faith freely,” he stated.Here in the United States, Obama noted “Ramadan reminds us that Islam is part of the fabric of our Nation, and that ‘from public service to business, from healthcare and science to the arts’ Muslim Americans help strengthen our country and enrich our lives.”“Even as Ramadan holds profound meaning for the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims, it is also a reminder to people of all faiths of our common humanity and the commitment to justice, equality, and compassion shared by all great faiths”,the U.S. president said.
