UN chief lauds Pakistan's efforts to provide relief to flood-hit people, offers world body's help -
UNITED NATIONS, Sept 21 (APP): Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has commended the efforts of the Pakistani government in providing relief to the flood-affected people across Pakistan, and offered United Nations help, if requested.

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 21 (APP): Ahead of the United Nations Climate Summit, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Saturday welcomed at the world body's headquarters in New York UN Messenger of Peace, Leonardo DiCaprio, whom he has hailed as the world body's "new voice for climate advocacy."

US to sell Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles to Pakistan -
WASHINGTON, Sep 20 (APP): The U.S. State Department has approved sale of 160 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles to Pakistan for an estimated cost of $198 million, as Washington believes that the country is ‘vital to U.S. foreign policy and national security goals in South Asia.’

INCHEON, South Korea, Sept 20 (APP): Full-back Muhammad Imran and forwards Muhammad Rizwan Senior and Muhammad Umar Bhutta slammed hat-tricks as Pakistan got off to an emphatic start in the XVII Asian Games Hockey Tournament when they thrashed Sri Lanka 14-0 here on Saturday.

LALAMUSA, July 16 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday said that PPP-led government was endeavouring to strengthen democracy by taking on board allied parties. Talking to the media and various delegations here at Camping Ground before leaving for Islamabad, he said that any kind adventurism was no solution to the problems of the country, adding that process of election was all the times good to gauge the opinion of masses.
