IFC, World Bank, Deutsche Bank announces trade financing deal for Pakistan wind power plant -
WASHINGTON, June 29 (APP)- IFC, a member of the World Bank, Deutsche Bank and Bank AL Habib Limited Pakistan on Monday announced a new trade financing deal that will allow import of equipment for a new wind power plant to help boost Pakistan's generation of clean energy.


UN official voices concern after report reveals children bear brunt of Afghan conflict -
UNITED NATIONS, June 27 (APP): Last year saw more children killed or  maimed in Afghanistan since monitoring of those statistics began in 2007, reflecting that "children are bearing the brunt of the conflict," according to United Nations UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's latest  report on children and armed conflict in that strife-torn country.

Pakistan felicitates China on launch of Shenzhou IX spacecraft PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, July 5 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has sent a message of greetings to his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, on the successful launch of Shenzhou IX spacecraft. “We are proud that China is making rapid strides in the development of space technology which would bring enormous benefits for the whole world, especially the developing nations,” the Prime Minister said in his message. Prime Minister Ashraf said China has always achieved in the shortest possible time what others have failed. The launch and docking of Shenzhou IX spacecraft is one such example, he added.
