Amid new attack on Yarmouk camp, UN urges Syria to halt military operations -
UNITED NATIONS, May 3 (APP): After a reported overnight attack on Yarmouk refugee camp, the U.N. relief agency assisting Palestinians across the Middle East Saturday called on the Syrian government to refrain from using explosive weapons in populated areas, "including airborne weapons, whose indiscriminate effects expose civilians to imminent danger and suffering."

Tokyo conference on Afghanistan urged to make human rights a priority PDF Print E-mail
NEW YORK, July 4 (APP): Donors meeting in Tokyo to discuss Afghanistan’s future should make human rights in the war-torn country a top priority, Human Rights Watch said Wednesday.  Representatives of about 70 countries will meet on July 8 at the Tokyo Conference to discuss support for Afghanistan in the critical years following the departure of most NATO forces in 2014.
