UNITED NATIONS, July 6 (APP): The deadly heatwave which caused more than 1,200 deaths in Karachi recently was aggravated by a low pressure system off the coast, which meant that the usual cooling coastal breeze was replaced by hot air coming from interior, the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has said, while warning also of record-breaking temperatures and wildfires in North America and
torrential downpours and widespread flooding in southern China.

XINING; (Qinghai-China) June 27 (APP): Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Masood Khan, held meetings with Qinghai Party Secretary Qiang Wei, Governor Luo Huining and Assistant Commerce Minister Qiu Hong and  discussed ways to build on and expand Pakistani carpets shares in  China’s vast market.Ambassador Khan held meetings with Chinese dignitaries at the inauguration of ‘Pakistan Day’ at the China International Carpet Exhibition, organized in Xining the provincial capital of Western China Qinghai province from  21 to 24 June.The exhibition is an annual event that attracted over 5,000 carpet manufactures and exporters from 40 countries around the world.This year the organizers of the event had declared June 21 to be ‘Pakistan Day’, and dedicated the day to a special exhibition of Pakistani carpets and handicrafts.
