President administers oath to new Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf |

ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP): Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, a member of Pakistan People Party was administered oath as the 23rd Prime Minister of the country on Friday here at Aiwan-e-Sadr.President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath at a special ceremony. It was attended by Senate Chairman Nayyer Hussain Bokhari, Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza, former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Syed Masood Kausar, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti,President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Prime Minister of AJK Abdul Majid Chaudhry, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Mehdi Shah, senators, members of the National Assembly, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, services chiefs, diplomats, political leadership and a large number of party workers.

Pervaiz Ashraf is the 23rd elected prime minister of the country while
technically he is the 26th chief executive of the country according to
the data available at the National Assembly, as former prime ministers
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif remained prime
ministers twice and General Pervez Musharraf declared himself as Chief
Executive of the country, so these three tenures are not included in the
list of the prime ministers of the country.
However, according to the data available at the National Assembly, Prime
Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will be 26th Chief Executive of the
country. Following are the previous prime ministers/chief executives
along with their tenures, since 1947.
