Cricket: Rain delays Pakistan’s clash with Scotland

EDINBURGH, May 19, (APP/AFP) - Pakistan’s one-day international against Scotland was delayed on Sunday due to a waterlogged playing surface in Edinburgh. The umpires ordered a 1200GMT pitch inspection at the Grange after taking a close look at the wicket three times before the scheduled start of play. Heavy rain in the Scottish capital on Saturday left areas of the outfield sodden, while there were also worries about the condition of the wicket.

Massive allocation of Rs 111.96 bln for education in Sindh budget

KARACHI, June 11 (APP): Realising the importance of education a massive allocation of Rs 111.96 billion has been proposed in the Sindh budget for the fiscal 2012-13. The budget was presented by Sindh Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, in the Sindh Assembly on Monday. He further stated that this amount includes an ADP of Rs 12.39 billion. The Minister said that this indicates a surge of 50 percent over the allocations of the current financial year and 164 percent jump over the allocations of financial year 2007-08 (that is, Rs 42.36 billion).
