Rookie Manzoor, Azhar make NBP batsmen struggle in Quaid Trophy final
KARACHI, Dec. 22 (APP)- Rookie paceman Manzoor Khan and Test batsman Azhar Ali shared five wicket between them as National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) batsmen struggled as they reached 239 for the loss of eight wickets in their first innings in their 5-day Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Trophy Gold League final against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) on Monday.

Ex-State Bank of Pakistan Governor Shamshad Akhtar gets high UN Post PDF Print E-mail
UNITED NATIONS, May 31 (APP): UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Thursday announced the appointment of Shamshad Akhtar, a former governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, as his senior advisor on Economic Development and Finance with the rank of Assistant Secretary-General in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). Shamshad Akhtar was until recently the Vice President, Middle East and North Africa at the World Bank. During her term as the State Bank of Pakistan Governor, she was nominated consecutively for two awards of Asia’s Best Central Bank and was ranked by the Asian Wall Street Journal as one of the top ten Asia women professionals in 2008.
