Army win 45th National Athletics Championship
ISLAMABAD, May 26 (APP): Defending Champion Pakistan Army won the 45th National Athletics Championship on Sunday by securing overall 441 points here at Jinnah Stadium Pakistan Sports Complex.
Army’s athletes bagged 15 gold and as many silver medals besides clinching nine bronze medals.
WAPDA with 195 points remained second, clinching five gold, three silver and seven bronze medals. Pakistan Air Force with 117 points was third as its athletes won two gold, four silver and three bronze medals. Pakistan Navy, Islamabad and Higher Education Commission (HEC) got one bronze medal each.

Impressive Asif, Sajjad in last-16 0f 6- Red Asian Snooker
KARACHI, May 26 (APP); Pakistan’s two ace cueists Muhammad Asif and
Muhammad Sajjad stormed into the last 16 stage of in 6-Red Asian Snooker
Championship in Doha (Qatar) after winning all three out of three on Sunday.
Sajjad slight challenge from Bashar Hussain before chalking out 5-3 win
his third in the group. Asif beat Mohanna Obadidly of Qatar 5-2 to conjure up his
third win at trot.
Earlier on Saturday, World Champion Asif in his opening match routed
Ali Jalil Ali of Iraq 5-1 in the morning session and later in the day he thrashed
Khaled Al Qurani by same margin.
Former Asian number two, Muhammad Sajjad beat Laxman Rawat of India 5-3
and in the afternoon session, he hammered United Arab Emirates’ Mohammed Sheheb
5-1.
Chief of Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup concludes
ISLAMABAD, May 26 (APP): Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup 2013 ended here on Sunday with an impressive ceremony at Margalla Greens Golf Club.
Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila graced the occasion as chief guest. Addressing the ceremony, Chief of the Naval Staff said that Pakistan Navy had made a significant contribution to promote golf by regularly organizing national level tournaments.
He said that the championship was a memorable event which would leave a lasting impact on the minds and hearts of golf lovers throughout the country and the ambience of this beautiful course would be cherished for long.

Army, WAPDA continue dominance in 45th National Athletics C’ship
ISLAMABAD, May 25 (APP): Pakistan Army continued their dominance in men’s events and WAPDA in women events on the second day of 45th National Athletics Championship here at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex.
Army was leading on points table in men’s events with a total of 273 points
after having clinched nine gold, ten silver and five bronze medals. WAPDA was

I have not yet read central contract: Misbah
LAHORE, May 31 (APP)- Pakistan one-day and test captain,Misbah ul Haq said on Thursday that he has not yet read the central contract and he would sign it after going through it in due course of time.
“ I have received the contract a day before and I have not even read one page of it and we have ample time to sign it as we are currently busy in preparing for the tour of Sri Lanka “,he told reporters here on Thursday at Gadaffi stadium. He rejected an impression that he or other senior players persuaded the team mates not to sign the contract.
