Pakistan renew its commitment to UN peacekeeping at first-ever defence chiefs conference -
UNITED NATIONS, Mar 28 (APP): Pakistan has renewed its commitment to the “noble cause” of United Nations peacekeeping, the world body’s flagship activity that helps countries torn by conflict to create the conditions for lasting peace.

UNITED NATIONS, Mar 28 (APP):  Pakistan Friday called for U.N. Security Council action to end the religiously and ethnically-motivated violence sweeping the Middle East by promoting a global consensus for resolving the challenges confronting Iraq, Syria, Yemen and “most importantly” Palestine.

Cabinet body orders regularization of contractual, daily wage employees PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP): The Sub-Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday ordered regularization of contractual and daily wage employees of different government departments.The meeting, chaired by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, was attended among others by Federal Minister for Professional Technical Training Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Jamali and Chairman of Peoples Labour Bureau and Member of Central Executive Committee (CEC) of Pakistan People’s Party Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad.

The committee ordered the regularization of 183 contractual and daily wage employees of National Highway Authority and Motorway Police; 215 employees of Civil Aviation Authority, 72 temporary employees of Islamabad Capital Territory, 413 of the Ministry of National Food and Security, including 13 employees of the Fisheries Development Board, 139 employees of Livestock Dairy Development Board and 215 of Pakistan Agriculture Research Council.
Similarly, the committee also approved the regularization of 20,719 contractual and daily wage employees of the Ministry of Water and Power, including 793 employees of QESCO and 3,598 of WAPDA.
The Cabinet Committee also approved regularization of contractual and daily wage employees working in Associated Press of Pakistan.
The Committee directed the Ministries of Human Resources, Postal Services and Ports and Shipping to bring up the cases of all contractual and daily wage employees in the next meeting, who have not yet been regularized.
The committee further directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to bring up the cases of the contractual and daily wage employees of PTV and PEMRA for regularization.
It also directed the Cabinet Division and the Ministry of Interior to bring up the cases of all contractual and daily wage employees of the Capital Development Authority and NADRA who have completed one year service for their induction on permanent basis.      
The committee took notice of the absence of PEMRA Chairman and conveyed its displeasure.
