Army, WAPDA continue dominance in 45th National Athletics C’ship

ISLAMABAD, May 25 (APP): Pakistan Army continued their dominance in men’s events and WAPDA in women events on the second day of 45th National Athletics Championship here at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex. Army was leading on points table in men’s events with a total of 273 points after having clinched nine gold, ten silver and five bronze medals. WAPDA was second with 118 points as its athletes bagged three gold, one silver and five bronze medals. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was on number three with 67 points,

Water and Power Ministry directed make recovery from defaulters in 30 days

ISLAMABAD, Nov 30 (APP): The National Assembly Standing Committee on Water and Power has directed the Ministry of Water and Power to disconnect connection of defaulters if they failed to submit outstanding dues within 30 days. A meeting of the Standing Committee on Water and Power was held on Wednesday under the Chairmanship of Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, MNA to get briefing on outstanding electricity bills of the ministries, divisions and attached departments associated public bodies of the federal government. The CEO’s of all power distribution companies gave a detailed briefing on the issue. After hearing the briefing, the committee directed the Ministry of Water and Power that list of defaulter departments should be provided to media and 30 days may be given to defaulters for payment.

If they failed to deposit substantial amount to WAPDA, the connection of the defaulters should be disconnected immediately.
The committee also directed the Ministry of Water and Power that there is need to differentiate between habitual defaulters and the well reputed/accidentally defaulters. The Committee also decided to hold its next meeting with NEPRA and the Secretary Finance, Secretary Local Government and Secretary Housing and Physical Planning Punjab to resolve the issue of outstanding dues after 11 Muharam.
