UNITED NATIONS, Oct 23 (APP): The increasing use of armed drones within domestic law enforcement risks depersonalizing the use of force and infringing upon the rights of individual citizens, a United Nations human rights expert warned Thursday.

UNITED NATIONS, Oct 23 (APP): The heads of two United Nations expert bodies Thursday urged States to take full responsibility to solve all aspects of the issue of enforced disappearances -- prevention, search for the disappeared, punishment of the perpetrators and reparation for the victims.

Pakistan calls for ban on autonomous weapons that would select and attack targets without human cont -
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 23 (APP): Pakistan has called for pre-emptive ban on the development of Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems (LAWS), known as killer robots, that are capable of making their own combat decisions without human intervention, saying such devices would undermine world peace.

Obama reaffirms support for Afghan unity government -
WASHINGTON, Oct 22 (APP): President Barack Obama on Wednesday spoke with his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai by video conference, along with his Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and reaffirmed support for their unity government.
