KARACHI, May 21 (APP): Former Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt. Gen (Retd) Tauqir Zia has demanded ad hoc arrangements in the present set-up of the board. When the incumbent management of the PCB is celebrating the democratic transition a few former, current players and administrators casting doubts on the mechanism adopted by the PCB for the elections held in Islamabad on May 8 three-day before the General Elections in the country.

Balochistan Assembly approves Rs 27.97 billion supplementary budget 2011-12 PDF Print E-mail
QUETTA, June 14 (APP): The Balochistan Assembly on Thursday approved Rs 27. 97 billion supplementary budget of 2011-12. The assembly session was chaired by Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani. Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani was also present in the House. Provincial Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd presented demands of Rs 12.31 billion of ongoing non-development expenditures of 2011-12 and Rs 15 billion of development expenditures, including Rs 666 million of other demands.
 
Balochistan govt. to spend Rs. 3.8 billion in irrigation sector in 2012-13 PDF Print E-mail
QUETTA, June 11 (APP): Balochistan Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd Galu has said that an amount of Rs. 3.847 million have been allocated for 131 new and 46 ongoing uplift schemes in irrigation sector in the provincial  budget 2012-13. Speaking during the provincial assembly budget session here Monday with Mir Aslam Bhutani in chair, he said work on Sowantar Dam in Gwadar would be launched during the next financial year and a reasonable amount has been allocated for the purpose.

QUETTA, June 11 (APP)  Balochistan government has allocated Rs. 888 million for Solar Energy Home Project in its annual budget for 2012-13 under which around 300 villages in parts of the province would be electrified. Speaking during provincial assembly budget session here Monday, the provincial Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd Galu highlighted the sufferings caused by shortage of power and said the nature has endowed the province with immense opportunities for generation of solar, wind and geo-thermal energy.
 
Balochistan assembly presents Rs 179.93 bln tax-free Budget PDF Print E-mail
QUETTA, June 11 (APP): The Balochistan coalition government has presented Rs 179.93 billion Budget for financial year 2012-13 during the provincial assembly session here on Monday. The 20 percent increase in salaries and pension of government employees announced while 6530 new vacancies have been created in the next financial budget for 2012-13. No deficit was shown in the budget. Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani presided over the assembly sitting. Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani and Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasey were also present in the house. Provincial Minister for Finance Mir Asim Kurd presented the Rs 179.93 billion tax-free budget for next fiscal year 2012-13 which includes Rs 35.81 billion of annual development program and Rs 144.11 billion of non-development expenditures.
