Quota of women in govt jobs enhanced from 5% to 25% percent PDF Print E-mail
KARACHI, June 11 (APP):  Quota of women for recruitment in government jobs has been enhanced to 25 per cent from existing 5 per cent in the Sindh Budget for the fiscal year 2012-13. This was announced by Sindh Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah in his speech for Budget of Sindh 2012-13, in the Sindh Assembly here Monday. He said women empowerment was very close to the heart of our visionary leader Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and she had the credit for pushing through historic initiatives to lessen the plight of women.
 
Rs 7.5 bln allocated for water and drainage PDF Print E-mail
KARACHI, June 11 (APP):  Sindh Government has earmarked Rs 7.5 billion for water and drainage sector in the budget 2012-13, presented by Provincial Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Sindh Assembly here on Monday. In his budget speech, the Finance Minister said that the government has made sincere efforts to provide adequate funding to this sector by proposing Rs 7.5 billion for the Water and Drainage sector in the budget, which is almost twice the ADP allocation of FY 2011-12 and 9 times the allocation in 2007-08.
 
Rs 720 mln allocated for minority schemes PDF Print E-mail
KARACHI, June 11 (APP):  Sindh Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the development allocation for Minority schemes is proposed to be enhanced to Rs 720.00 million which is 650 per cent above Rs 110 million allocated in the outgoing year. The Sindh Finance Minister said this in his speech for Sindh Budget 2012-13 in the Sindh Assembly on Monday. He said Government of Sindh holds all the people of Sindh as equal citizens having fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution. Moreover, we appreciate the role played by the minority communities towards maintaining religious harmony, he said.
 
Rs 49.52 bln allocated for health sector PDF Print E-mail
KARACHI, June 11 (APP):  PPP-led government of Sindh has allocated Rs 49.52 billion for improvement of Health Sector in the budget 2012-13, announced here Monday by Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Giving details, he said that the proposed allocation of Rs 49.52 billion during the next financial year (including ADP of Rs 14.80 billion) is reflective of the importance attached to the strengthening of Health Services in the Province.
 
Rs 13.69 bln allocation proposed for agriculture sector in Sindh PDF Print E-mail
KARACHI, June 11 (APP):  Sindh Finance Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that a significant allocation of Rs 13.69 billion which includes ADP of Rs 10.9 billion, has been proposed for the agriculture sector in the financial year 2012-13. He said this in his speech announcing  Sindh Budget 2012-13, in the Sindh Assembly here on Monday. He said agriculture is the backbone of our economy and we firmly believe that it may not be possible to fight poverty without addressing issues related to greater agricultural productivity.
