Rs 5,040 mln allocated for agriculture PDF Print E-mail
LAHORE, Jun 9 (APP): The Punjab government has allocated a sum of Rs 5,040 million for development of the agriculture sector in fiscal year 2012-13. According to budget documents, Rs 4,536.941 million will be spent on three new schemes while Rs 503.059 million on 16 ongoing schemes. New ongoing schemes include Water Managment, Agriculture Mechanization and Block Allocation for New Intiatives under the agriculture sector.
 
Punjab Govt to continue Laptops scheme PDF Print E-mail
LAHORE, June 9 (APP): The Punjab government on Saturday announced to continue laptops distribution scheme during fiscal year 2012-13. According to a provincial budget document, the government during ended fiscal 2011-12 gave away some 110,000 laptops to students on merit throughout the province. It said the continuation of laptops scheme would boost students morale, complement government policy of digitization, bring parity in terms of possession of IT equipment between students belonging to different segments of society and bridge digital divide between poor and rich students without compromising merit and excellence.
 
Punjab Govt allocates Rs 1,650m for livestock PDF Print E-mail
LAHORE, June 9 (APP): The Punjab Government has allocated a sum of Rs 1,650 million for the livestock sector in fiscal year 2012-13. According to the availabe break-up of the budgetary statistics, Rs 249 million will be provided for early completion of ongoing schemes while Rs 171 million will be consumed on the new livestock  regular schemes in year 2012-13. Meanwhile, Rs 1,230 million will also be utilized for other expenditures relating to livestock sectors.
 
Punjab Govt allocates Rs 34 bln for subsidies PDF Print E-mail
LAHORE, Jun 9 (APP): The Punjab government on Saturday allocated Rs 34 billion in the provincial budget 2012-13 under the head of subsidies out of which some 27.5 billion rupees have been set aside for wheat (flour) subsidy only. According to the budget statistics, as much as one billion rupees on public transport, four billion rupees on Ramzan package and 1.5 billion rupees on the Yellow Cab Scheme have been earmarked for subsidy during year 2012-13. 
 
Rs 7.207 allocated for industries PDF Print E-mail
LAHORE, June 9 (APP): The Punjab government has allocated a sum of Rs 7.207 billion for industries in the budget for year 2012-13. According to budget documents, Rs 3.549 billion will be spent on salaries of employees whereas remaining amount of Rs 3.657 billion is reserved for non-salary expenditure. TEVTA will receive about Rs six billion as a grant in aid which is slightly higher than the last year whereas an amount of Rs 76 million has been reserved for Headquarters establishment.
