Saleh top seed in Asian Snooker 6-Red Championship
KARACHI, May 23 (APP): Newly crowned Asian Snooker Champion, Saleh Muhammad Muhammadi of Afghanistan has been top seeded for the Asian Snooker 6-Red Championship which goes into action in Qatar from Friday. Saleh, formerly of Pakistan earlier this month won the Jubilee Insurance 29th Asian Snooker Championship held in Karachi by beating Omar Al-Kojah of Syria in the final. Pakistan’s Muhammad Sajjad, a 2010 Asian Snooker Championship finalist is seeded four while Pakistan’s current World Champion Muhammad Asif is seeded sixth according to draws and seeding received from Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS).

Asif confident of Pakistan doing well in Asian Team Snooker
KARACHI, May 22 (APP): Reigning World Champion Muhammad Asif was confident of doing well in inaugural Asian Team Snooker and 6-Red Snooker Championship being held Doha (Qatar) from May 24 to 30. “All our players like Sajjad, Hamza and Majid are in a good nick and are in the best frame of mind to do well in Doha event”, Muhammad Asif told APP in an interview on Wednesday.

National ranking boxing tournament next month
LAHORE, May 22 (APP): National ranking boxing tournament will be held from June 20 at Hyderabad under the aegis of Pakistan Boxing Federation. “It will be a top national level boxing activity being held after the elections of the present regime of the PBF,” said Secretary, PBF, Iqbal Hussain while talking to APP here on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD, May 22 (APP): Former Pakistan players perceive the recent spot-fixing scandal as a cause to faint the image of the game of cricket and has stone the ongoing Indian Premier League. Talking to private news channel, Former Test captain Zaheer Abbas said that he was shocked by the scandal involving Indian Test player, S.Sreesanth and two others Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.

KP assembly continue debate on budget 2012-13 PDF Print E-mail
PESHAWAR, June 12 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Tuesday continued debate on budget for financial year 2012-12 and eight members of the provincial assembly included members from both opposition and treasury benches participated. The proceedings of the house were presided over by a member of panel of  chairman, Saqibullah Khan Chamkani. Participating in the budget debate, parliamentary leader of PPP-Sherpao, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao said that budget used to reflect the vision of the government and comprising of the polices and priorities for next financial year.

KP presents supplementary budget of Rs 29.62 billion PDF Print E-mail
PESHAWAR, June 8 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Mohammad Hamayun Khan presented a supplementary budget of Rs 29.62 billion for the current financial year 2011-12. Unveiling the salient features of the supplementary budget, he said that  the additional funds were required as the provincial government have presented balance budget of Rs.249.151 billion.

KP plans to start work on five project to generate 200 MW electricity PDF Print E-mail
PESHAWAR, June 8 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has planned to start construction work on 5 projects will to generate 200 MW electricity including Matiltan (84 MW), Lawi (69 MW), Koto (31.17 MW), Karora (9.3 MW) and Jabori (6.5 MW). This was said by Provincial Minister for Finance, Hamyun Khan in his budget speech here on Friday at Provincial Assembly. Hamayun Khan said ensuring energy security and efficiency will be amongst the government’s top priorities in order to tackle the current energy crisis and enable sufficient supply of energy for domestic as well as, commercial use.
