PESHAWAR, Apr 19 (APP): Current National Champion Mehran Javed and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa No. 1 Laiba Ijaz clinched titles after defeating their respective rivals in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boys and Girls Junior Squash Championship played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Saturday.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): The one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao started at Prime Minister House here, to discuss range of issues to strengthen bilateral relations. Earlier, Prime Minister Gilani and Premier Wen warmly shook hands and had a photo-op before they proceeded for their exclusive talks. The one-on-one meeting is also being followed by the delegation level talks.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Former Foreign Secretary, Najmuddin Sheikh on Friday said he believes Chinese Premier’s visit would  further consolidate political solidarity and raise economic cooperation to  a higher level between the two sides. He said many changes have taken place in both Pakistan and China since the two countries established diplomatic ties six decades ago but our friendship has remained unaffected. In his comments on the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to  akistan, Mr. Sheikh said the friendship between the two countries is not one ided rather our ties have soared to new heights with every passing year.

Gilani, Wen vow to deepen strategic relationship PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao held one-on-one meeting here on Friday and vowed to further strengthen their evergreen fraternal ties in diverse fields including trade, energy, technology. The two leaders who met here at the Prime Minister House, besides discussing the ways and means on how to deepen the strategic bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Premier Wen is in Pakistan on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.

Pakistan and China sign 13 agreements and MoUs in various fields PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Pakistan and China on Friday inked 13 agreements and Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in economy, energy, banking, security and technology.  Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao witnessed the signing of documents as the respective ministers and officials of Pakistan and China inked them. The Agreements and MoUs were signed to expand cooperation in the utilization, management, training, educational programmes and modernization of railways and to establish a long term cooperative relationship on the basis of equality and mutual benefits.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao here on Friday said that Pakistan, being an important country in the region, has made positive contribution to peace, stability and development of the region and the world.  “The purpose of my visit this time is to solidify friendship, deepen cooperation, support Pakistan’s efforts of post-disaster reconstruction, and ring in, together with Pakistan, the 60th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations in 2011,” Wen said in his arrival statement at the Chaklala Air Base.
