Pakistan, China establish mechanism for regular consultations PDF Print E-mail
president_pm2.jpgISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Pakistan and China have established a mechanism for regular consultations between the leadership of the two countries and also at the level of the foreign ministers of the two countries.A mechanism for energy framework to help Pakistan come out of the energy crisis has also been established.During delegation level talks at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday between the delegation of Pakistan and China, led by President Asif Ali Zardari and the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao respectively, Premier Wen Jiabao said that a mechanism has been worked out and expressed the hope that this would provide impetus to further enhance mutual cooperation and contribute towards further strengthening the bilateral relations.

Agreements worth $15 bln signed at Pak-China Business Forum PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD Dec 18 (APP): Pakistan and China here on Saturday inked 22 agreements and Memoranda of Understandings (MoU) of 15 billion dollars to boost bilateral trade and investment for mutual benefit of the two countries.The agreements were signed during the Pak-China Business Cooperation Summit here at a local hotel. Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani also attended the summit.The summit was jointly organized by Board of Investment, Ministry of Commerce, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCIT).

In describing our friendship as being taller than the mountains and deeper than the oceans, I only seek to capture the true essence of our relationship,” the President said.“I am also confident that, in doing so, I speak not just for myself but for all the 180 million of my fellow Pakistanis”, the President said while speaking at a banquet he hosted in honour of the visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday night.

Pakistan should have no concern on improving China-India ties: Former envoy PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): Former Ambassador to China, Javed Hussain on Saturday said Pakistan should have no concern on improving relations between China and India.If China has good relations with India, Beijing will definitely use its influence over India in favour of Pakistan, he told Radio Pakistan when asked to comment on China’s role in bringing Pakistan and India closer.He said Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his recent visit to India had said that Pakistan and India should resolve Kashmir issue through talks. For Pakistan’s point of view, his statement was positive and we should welcome it, he added.He said relations of Pakistan and China will further grow and strengthen in coming decades on the basis of common strategic relations.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (APP): The relationship between Pakistan and China is not solely dependent on reciprocity but Pakistan certainly can offer China a very viable and important trade and energy corridor, Director of China Study Center Islamabad, Fazlur Rehman said.China is certainly looking for prospects in the future and Pakistan can connect its deep seaport at Gwadar with the Western regions of China, which are coming up economically very fast, he told BBC TV when asked to comment on the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Pakistan on Saturday.
