Anwar to lead Pakistan “A” team vs NZ
KARACHI, Oct 30 (APP): Two Karachi players Saad Ali and Junaid Ilyas were picked in Pakistan ‘A’ squad to play 3-day games against New Zealand at Sharjah from November 3-5, Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Thursday.

KARACHI, Oct. 30 (APP)- Lanky Pakistan fast bowler Muhammad Irfan and Nuaman Ali took three wickets each as Hyderabad Hawaks were bowled out for 123 in their first innings on first day of their 4-day Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Trophy Silver League match against Khan Research Labortories  at Niaz Stadium , Hyderabad on Thursday.

KARACHI, Oct. 30 (APP)- Pace duo of Waqas Maqsood and Muhammad Ali Bhutta shared ten wickets between them to shoot out Karachi Dolphins for 96 and then WAPDA consolidated their position by reaching 148-3 in their first innings on the opening day of their 4-day Quaid-Azam Cricket Trophy Gold League at National Stadium on Thursday.

BEIJING, Dec 16 (APP):  The Islamabad Ambassador to Beijing Masood Khan has said that Pakistan expects that on regional issues China to play a bigger role in promoting peace and stability, especially in facilitating dialogues between Pakistan and its neighbour, India. “We hope China will, over time, be able to persuade India to have sustainable dialogues with Pakistan for the resolution of all outstanding issues, including Kashmir”, said ambassador Masood Khan in an interview with Chinese media.

BEIJING, Dec 16 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that in the federal capital there are landmark buildings, which reflect the deep rooted friendship between Pakistan and China.In an interview ahead of Premier Wen Jiabao visit to Pakistan starting from Friday (tomorrow) Prime Minister Gilani mentioned Zhou Enlai Avenue, Jinnah Sports Complex and the newly-built Pakistan-China Friendship Centre as symbols of all weather friendship.“They are the symbols of the unity and bond between China and Pakistan and will always be remembered,” Gilani remarked.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will hold formal talks today, covering wide ranging topics of bilateral interest to expand decades’ old ever-green relationship, with greater focus on their growing economic partnership. The talks at Prime Minister House will be followed by signing of about 20 agreements and Memorandums of Understandings (MOUs) in areas of economy, energy and communication.

China to open branch of ICBC in Islamabad PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 (APP): Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, who starts Pakistan visit on Friday, will open a branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the top private bank of China, in Islamabad. The ICBC is the world’s biggest bank by capitalization, Saudi Gazette said while quoting a report from Beijing. By the end of this year, the trade between China and Pakistan will be worth $7 billion with an annual growth rate of 29%. The growth rate of trade between the two countries is expected to grow by over 30 % over the next five years and the trade volume could increase to $18 billion, the report said.
