ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): Pakistan and China, during the two-day visit of Chinese Premier Li Kiqiang, decided to further deepen practical cooperation in all sectors and would strengthen coordination and cooperation on international and regional issues. The two sides agreed to work on it according to the guiding principles of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Good-Neighbourly Relations between the two countries and on the existing close cooperation. The two sides reviewed with satisfaction the development of China- Pakistan relations, and are of the view that the China-Pakistan relationship has acquired growing strategic significance under the current complex and volatile regional and international situation. This partnership positively contributes to peace and stability in the region. To cement this strategic partnership is the shared objective of both countries, said a Joint Statement on deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso Thursday jointly planted a sapling at Memorial Garden Shakarparian. Both the prime ministers planted a chir pine tree named as ‘China-Pakistan Friendship Tree’ at the garden in a ceremony also attended by federal cabinet members and CDA officers including Member Environment, Ahsan Ali Mangi, Member Planning and Design Mustafain Kazmi. Premier Li Keqiang is the 118th foreign dignitary planting a tree at Shakarparian. Acting CDA Chairman Azhar Ali Chaudhry briefed the guest about the making of Capital Islamabad in this region and tradition of planting trees at this Memorial Garden of Shakarparian where the Federal Cabinet met to approve the plan of the Federal Capital Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Thursday met Senate Chairman Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari and Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Fahmida Mirza here at the Parliament House and discussed issues of mutual interest.They discussed issues related to bilateral, regional and international aspects. Both the sides agreed for further strengthening the friendly ties between the two nations and pledged to work in cohesion for achieving common goals for their mutual benefit.

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): Six PAF JF-17 Thunders escorted the aircraft of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang as it took off from PAF Nur Khan Base for its next destination. The escorting aircraft got airborne from an operational Air Base and formed a three ship echelon right and echelon left formation on either side of the distinguished dignitary’s aircraft, according to PAF. The escort formation of JF-17 Thunders was led by Wing Commander Ronald Afzal.
