INCHEON, South Korea, Sept 21 (APP): Saurave Ghosal of India shattered the dream of Pakistan of striking a double gold in the squash  event of 17th Asian Games when he defeated Nasir Iqbal 3-1 to cruise into the semi-final round of Asian Games Squash competition at Yeorumul Squash Courts on Sunday.

Independence Day celebrated in Cairo PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP): Pakistan’s 68th Independence Day was celebrated in Cairo, Egypt with solemnity and fervour.  Ambassador of Pakistan, Manzoor ul Haq presided over a flag hoisting ceremony, held at Chancery premises. The flag hoisting was followed by reading out messages of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. Members of Pakistani community living in Egypt as well as officers and staff members of the Embassy, alongwith their families attended the ceremony. Egyptian media covered the ceremony and recorded a special programme based on interview with Ambassador and members of the community. A special cultural evening was also organized by Embassy at the Egyptian International Center for Cultural Cooperation. Students of Pakistan International School sang national songs and held Urdu poetry competition.

Independence Day celebrated in Turkey PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP): Pakistan’s Embassy in Ankara, Turkey celebrated 68th Independence Day of Pakistan. Ambassador of Pakistan, Muhammad Haroon Shaukat hoisted a national flag at the tune of national anthem in presence of Pakistani community, students and Embassy officials. At a ceremony, students of Pakistan Embassy School (PEISG) in Ankara performed and sung national anthem and patriotic songs.  Ambassador Haroon Shaukat read out messages of President and Prime Minister on the occasion and said Pakistani leadership has a strong desire to forge an enduring strategic partnership with Turkey.  He also congratulated the Turkish nation on conducting the recent elections for new President and hoped that Pakistan-Turkey relations shall touch new heights under their dynamic leadership.
