PCB Interim Committee pre-scrutiny briefing from Thursday
KARACHI, June 19 (APP): Two-day Interim Committee appointed for holding elections of Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) zones’ pre-scrutiny briefing will be held at National Stadium on Thursday and Friday.
According to an announcement of Interim Committee on Wednesday, briefing for Zone-I and II will be held on Thursday at 4.30 p.m., on Friday for Zone II-IV at 9.30 a.m. and for Zone-V and VII at 4.30 p.m.
Gulfraz Khan has been appointed as the chairman of the interim committee while Badar Jafri is its member.
Taekwondo team off to Jakarta to feature in Asian Junior Championship

Rs 22 mln more allocated to POA Interim Committee for national games
ISLAMABAD, June 19 (APP): Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has released
the remaining amount of Rs 22 million to the Interim Committee of
Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to hold the 32nd national games, scheduled to
take place here from June 28 to July 4.

Match officials for Champions Trophy semis announced
KARACHI, June 18 (APP): The International Cricket Council (ICC) Tuesday announced the match officials for the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy.
England will take on South Africa in the first semi-final on Wednesday at The Oval.The on-field umpires appointed will be Kumar Dharmasena and Rod Tucker, with Bruce Oxenford and Steve Davis third and fourth umpires, respectively.

Pakistan hockey training camp commences
KARACHI, June 18 (APP): Training camp of Pakistan probables in preparations for Hockey World League began here at Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) Stadium on Tuesday.
Former Pakistan captain and Olympic half back Waseem Ahmed did not report for training as he was getting treatement after an accident, Manager/Chief coach Akhtar Rasool told APP during team’s afternoon training session.

Pakistan-US talks on ties may resume after parliamentary debate: Munter
LARKANA, Jan 31 (APP): US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter
on Tuesday expressed the hope that talks will begin between the two countries
on normalisation of ties, after discussion by Pakistan’s Parliament on bilateral relations.
He was talking to media-men at Mohenjodaro, some 28 kms from here, after visiting the site of famous 5,000-years-old Indus Valley Civilization.

was a terrible tragedy and the United States will ensure that such
incidents do not take place again. He said the attack was not pre-planned.

Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan pays condolence call on Pir Pagara
SUKKUR, Jan 31 (APP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Jamil Ahmed
Khan paid a condolence call on Pir Sahib Pagara at his ancestral hometown and
offered prayer for the departed soul of the spiritual head of the Hurs who died recently in a London hospital.
Ambassador Khan also praised the commitment of the Hurs to Pakistan and recalled the brevity the clan exhibited under the spiritual leadership of the Pirs during the two wars, right through the inception of Pakistan.
Ambassador Khan also conveyed the heartfelt condolences from many Emaratis concerned, having deep sense of respect for the departed Pir Pagara and his elevated spiritual stature.

Ambassador meets Saudi Minister of Defence
RIYADH, Jan 31 (APP): Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia Muhammad Naeem Khan called on Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday in his office.
The Ambassador conveyed felicitations and greetings of the Minister of Defence of Pakistan to Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz which he warmly reciprocated.
During the meeting, the matters relating to bilateral defence cooperation of the two countries were discussed. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the existing level of cooperation in this field.
They agreed that both countries must explore means to further enhance and deepen this relationship for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
