ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of Pir Sabir Shah, a PML (N) Leader and former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The President in a message conveyed his condolences to Pir Sabir Shah and other members of the bereaved family. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Dr. Firdous laments use of undignified language by CM Punjab against President PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday said Constitution should be respected and it was below the dignity of Chief Minister Punjab to use undignified language against the President of Pakistan while holding a constitutional office. Talking to a private television channel, the Minister said the constitutional way to remove a president is to bring an impeachment motion in the parliament. She said politicians never become afraid of public meetings as it is also an opportunity for them to recharge, motivate and mobilize their party workers. Public meetings are a health sign for democracy and continuity of democratic process and a chance for leaders to put their agenda before the nation, she added.

Pakistan, Turkey agree to deepen, broaden and strengthen partnership in every field PDF Print E-mail

ISTANBUL, (Turkey), Oct 31 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul on Monday agreed to finalize the currency swap agreement between the two countries this week to further deepen, broaden and strengthen their partnership in every field. The two Presidents also reviewed progress on the implementation of the ECO Trade Agreement (ECOTA), Gul Train, the High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) between the two countries and the setting up of Techno Parks in Pakistan in collaboration with Turkish universities in their wide-ranging bilateral talks in Istanbul on Monday, on the sidelines of trilateral summit on Afghanistan.

Senate seeks report on agriculture loans of Malakand Division PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP):The Presiding Officer in Senate Col ® Tahir Hussain Mashhadi on Monday sought reports from leader of the house about non implementation of government’s decisions to waive off agricultural loans of farmers of Malakand Division and dilapidated condition of women crisis centres. Earlier on a Point of 0rder, Nilofar Bakhtiar said that 32 women crisis centres established in provinces were in very dilapidated condition after the devolution under 18th amendment and no one was paying attention toward these. Maulana Gul Naseeb and Zahid Khan on a point of order drew the attention of the House toward non- implementation of government decision regarding waiving off agricultural loans of farmers of Malakand Division.
