Cricket: Rain delays Pakistan’s clash with Scotland
EDINBURGH, May 19, (APP/AFP) - Pakistan’s one-day international against
Scotland was delayed on Sunday due to a waterlogged playing surface in Edinburgh.
The umpires ordered a 1200GMT pitch inspection at the Grange after
taking a close look at the wicket three times before the scheduled start of play.
Heavy rain in the Scottish capital on Saturday left areas of the
outfield sodden, while there were also worries about the condition of the wicket.

Four people suffer injuries in hotel blast
ISLAMABAD, Sept 29 (APP): At least four persons, including two women, suffered injuries in a blast thought to have been caused by gas leakage here at Citi Hotel in Blue Area on Thursday night.
“The real cause of the blast is not ascertained yet, but apparently it looks that it took place due to gas leakage,” said Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police Bani Amin.
Talking to reporters said there was little chance that the blast was the result of any terrorist activity.
APC demonstrates national unity: Political leaders
ISLAMABAD, Sep. 30 (APP): The national political leadership has said that the All Parties Conference (APC) has sent a message across the globe that Pakistanis are united and will not compromise on national security at any cost.
Commenting upon the outcome of APC late Thursday, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed of Awami Muslim League said that all the leaders has decided to stand with Pakistan Army and country’s security agencies. We all are unanimous that no one will be allowed to attack at country’s sovereignty, he added.
He said the ISI chief stated that Pakistan has no link with the Haqqani network. He said participants of the meeting also demanded of the government to review country’s foreign policy.

APC rejects US allegations against Pakistan, resolves not to compromise on sovereignty
ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): Rejecting the recent assertions and baseless allegations made by the United States against Pakistan, the All Parties Conference (APC) here on Thursday resolved unanimously to never compromise on sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.Reading out the unanimous resolution at the conclusion of the APC, held at the Prime Minister House, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said leaders of 32 political parties asserted that "defence of Pakistan's sovereignty and its territorial integrity is a sacred duty which shall never be compromised." After in-depth deliberations, leaders of all the political parties unanimously adopted a 13-point resolution stating thatassertions against Pakistan are without substance and derogatory to a partnership approach.
