pm.jpgISLAMABAD, Aug 29 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said that the government with the cooperation of political forces and people would bring perpetrators of violence in Karachi to justice. Speaking at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of the Supreme Court Bar Association building here at the Supreme Court, he said, “I am hopeful that with the cooperation of all political forces and the people of Karachi, we will foil the designs of nefarious elements.” The Prime Minister said that Pakistan was going through troubling days and the immediate dangers to national security emanated from internal factors. “The situation in Karachi poses serious threats to the law and order situation in the metropolis and has implications for the country’s economy,” he added.

Federal Govt contract lecturers demand regularization PDF Print E-mail

ISLAMABAD, Aug 29, (APP): The contract teachers and lecturers of Federal Government have demanded their regularization as promised in the manifesto of Pakistan Peoples Party.

Raza Gilani, Minister of Religious Affairs and Chairman of NA Cabinet Committee
Syed Khurshid Shah and Secretary Establishment, Secretary Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) to take necessary action against the approval of ‘unofficial and unlawful regularisation’.
He said that the Committee had approved the regularisation of all contract and daily wages employees, who have been serving for the last one year. The cases of 243 contract lecturers, 198 daily wage employees and 163 junior lady teachers (JLTs) were sent to Establishment Division for formal approval.
Bypassing the CADD, a Joint Educational Advisor (JAE) had sent 287 nomination of favorites which is not justified, he added.     
He said 243 contract lecturers, working against sanctioned
posts for so many years and 198 daily wages lecturers and 163
junior lady teachers fear lay-off at this stage as CADD has
regularized the names mentioned in the list of 287, approved
by Cabinet Committee.
He said it is an unofficial step of CADD to deprive contract lecturers and teachers of their jobs. “Now we all contract lecturers and teachers of the federal government and model colleges and schools demand justice,” he added.

Over 400 rescuers deputed to cope with any emergency during Eid holidays PDF Print E-mail
ISLAMABAD,Aug 29, (APP):Over 400 rescuers have been deputed in various locations of Rawalpindi to cope with any emergency during the Eid holidays, Director General Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer said Monday.He said district control room, emergency rescue stations equipped with 14 emergency ambulances, 12 fire vehicles, 2 Water Bowzers and 4 special vehicles would assist the rescuers, said a press release.
