ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday urged the Punjab government to focus on good governance for providing relief to masses. Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), she said people of  Punjab were facing multiple challenges including deteriorating law and order situation, price-hike, unemployment,dengue virus. Punjab Government  even settle the salary issue of Lady Health Workers(LHWs), she added. She said: “It is the responsibility of the Punjab administration and the government to make sincere efforts to address the issues confronting the common man.”

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP): While condemning ransacking of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Election Offices in Sindh, PML-N Secretary Information, Mushahidullah Khan said on Sunday those people who carried out bloodshed on the roads of Karachi on May 12, 2007, were involved in this crime.In a statement issued here, he claimed that participation of thousands of people in the PML-N rally at Lahore was a no-confidence on the policies of the rulers.He said that their opponents were not ready to digest the ever increasing popularity of PML-N in the four provinces.

WASHINGTON, Oct 30 (APP): The West must reassess the status quo in the Middle East with respect to popular aspirations of the people, as existing uprisings show that the elite in the region are losing control, Mowahid Hussain Shah, attorney-at-law and noted expert on the region, said at a forum held on  Capitol Hill, the seat of the US Congress.“Justice and truth are with the protesters and the untenable status quo - with power concentrated in the hands of the ruling elites - is not sustainable,” he  maintained, at a colloquium on the Arab Spring and Bahrain.
